👀 The European Commission has opened its public consultation and call for evidence on the #DigitalFairnessAct.
➡️ Citizens and stakeholders can send their inputs by 24 October 2025.
➡️ The #protectionofminors is a key and cross-cutting priority within the DFA. The initiative aims to address several critical areas also covered in the draft INI report on the protection of minors, including: #darkpatterns, #addictivedesign, problematic features in computer games and unfair influencer marketing. It aims to strengthen the protection of consumers in general and of minors as consumers in particular in the digital environment and to ensure clearer, simpler rules and a level playing field for traders.
I very much hope a lot of stakeholders contribute. The addictive design in the digital sphere is having detrimental effects on the mental health of minors as well as adults. Let’s make sure the DFA is a recipe for success before it is too late.
